Mongoose ATB Full Chromed and Cowed

To celebrate our new cow bags, we outfitted this classic bike with an Expedition Seatpack and Rack Bag. Mongoose entered into the mountain bike world in 1985 with the Mongoose All-Terrain Bike, or “ATB”. Local kook/shredder John Bennet owns this example with the original ultra-wide handlebars and bullmoose style stem shown. From the wing nut to the spoke card and valve covers, this build has so much character when you look at the details so be sure to check out the full gallery! Here’s what he has to say about the bike:

“I got it at this used sporting goods store in Ashland called Get n’ Gear. I think I bought it for $100 with a coaster brake on it. While we were driving home we hit a bump and the tailgate came open which caused this bike and a few others to fall out on the freeway. But somehow, they all survived and so right away it had a funny story to it. I wanted one because my friend Nick B. had one and I was always jealous of his but also because of Mongoose’s bmx roots and it was chrome (aka tweaker gold). Rides like a wet noodle. 🏁”
